A place to connect
Troc-echange.com is a service operated by CODIWEB, identified in the legal notice. It allows private individuals to post listings to swap, exchange, give away or look for goods and services, then contact one another.
Browsing, creating an account, posting listings and messaging are free. Members bear their own internet access costs and any shipping costs agreed between them. The site does not collect transaction payments, arrange delivery or insure the goods exchanged.
The service is for personal, non-professional use by people aged 18 or over who have legal capacity to enter into contracts. Offers for sale and commercial solicitation do not belong on the site.
These terms govern your use of the service. You accept them when registering. Agreements to exchange or give away items are made directly between the members concerned; CODIWEB does not become a party to them.
City suggestions use Google Maps.
Our server sends the city text, country and language to Google to suggest places. Selecting a place triggers a check of its coordinates and country. This feature does not send member names, emails or your device’s GPS position. Google suggestions display the Google Maps logo. After selection, the site uses its own directory of localities for listings and distances; Google responses are not stored in this database. Place identifiers can only be reused for selection for ten minutes; they are removed on the next search after expiry or with the session.
Accurate information, personal access
Registration requires a surname, first name, username, valid email address and password. You must activate your account using the link sent by email and keep your information up to date.
Your username identifies you to other members. Your surname, first name and registration email address are not automatically displayed in listings or messages. Information you add yourself to text or a photo becomes accessible to its recipients.
Choose a personal password and keep it confidential. Promptly report any suspicious access to your account to the team. Members must not impersonate someone else, create multiple accounts to bypass a restriction or lend their account for that purpose.
Technical controls limit abusive access: frequency of attempts, country associated with the IP address and networks identified as risky. Connections from anonymised networks or from outside the supported countries and territories may be refused. Errors may be reported to chat support for review.
Describe your offer accurately
- Post in the appropriate category and town, with a clear title and description.
- State the item's actual condition, known faults, what you would like in exchange and any useful arrangements.
- Only offer goods you are entitled to dispose of or services you are authorised to provide.
- Use photos you have the right to publish and which accurately show the item.
- Update or remove a listing when the item is no longer available. Avoid duplicate listings intended to dominate the results.
A listing may await approval. Publication does not authenticate its author or certify the item, its safety or its compliance.
Agree in writing on the exchange, the condition of the items and their handover. Check the item and read the tips for safer exchanges. Never share banking codes or passwords.
How listings are presented
Results show active listings matching the selected criteria: keywords, category, location and listing type. Pending, removed or disabled listings do not appear in these lists.
The “Latest listings” page presents listings from newest to oldest. Other lists follow the order shown on the page, including date or the entered value where that sorting option is offered. Posting and listing inclusion are free. No promotion, free or paid, is used.
A listing's position in the results is not a recommendation or guarantee by the operator. Advertising spaces are displayed separately from members' listings.
Exchanges offered on the site take place between private individuals. Withdrawal rights and guarantees specific to sales by a professional do not automatically apply to these agreements; applicable civil-law obligations and commitments made between members must still be respected.
Communicate on the site using your username
Internal messaging lets you contact a member about a listing and arrange an exchange. The other person sees your username and, if available and approved, your profile photo.
An email notification can alert you to each new message and invite you to read it on the site. You can turn these notifications off or on in “My messages”, using “Notify me by email”. This preference is separate from your optional newsletter subscription.
Be courteous and keep messages relevant to the exchange. You can block a member or report a conversation using its options. Reporting and blocking are separate actions.
Conversations are not public. Authorised administrators may access exchanges where necessary for support, security, review of a report or compliance with a legal obligation. This service does not provide end-to-end encryption.
What is prohibited
- Stolen, counterfeit or safety-recalled goods, and unlawful or misleading offers.
- Weapons, ammunition, narcotics, medicines, tobacco and alcohol, and offers requiring authorisation you do not hold.
- Threats, harassment, insults, discrimination, incitement to hatred or violence, and unlawful sexual content.
- Unauthorised disclosure of third parties' personal data, identity theft and infringement of intellectual property.
- Spam, scams, commercial solicitation and links designed to steal information.
- Hacking, malicious software, abusive data collection and attempts to bypass the site's safeguards.
These rules apply to listings, images, profiles and messages. Posts unrelated to swapping, exchanging, giving away or looking for goods and services may also be refused.
Help us identify content
Use the reporting options in messaging or contact the team by chat, even without an account, to report a listing, profile or potentially unlawful content.
To allow us to review it, provide:
- The exact page address, or the conversation and message reference.
- The facts and reasons why you believe the content is unlawful or breaks the rules.
- Your name and an electronic contact method, unless a legal exception applies, particularly for certain reports involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Your confirmation that, to your knowledge and in good faith, the information provided is accurate and complete.
Avoid sending information unrelated to the report. Do not download or forward unlawful images involving minors: indicate where they are located.
Contact the team to make a reportProportionate measures you can challenge
The team reviews pending listings and reports. Automated security controls may limit access or the frequency of actions; a challenge may be submitted to the team for human review.
Depending on seriousness, repetition and context, measures may include requesting a correction, refusing or removing content, limiting messaging, suspending or closing an account. Immediate action is possible in the event of serious risk or a legal obligation.
A report including electronic contact details receives an acknowledgement followed by information on the decision. Reasons for restrictions are provided to the affected member as required by law. You can request a review by replying to the team or using the chat, specifying the decision and your comments. Legal remedies remain available.
You retain the rights to your content
You retain ownership of the rights to the text and photos you publish. You must hold the necessary permissions, particularly where people are identifiable or a third party holds rights to an image.
You grant CODIWEB a non-exclusive, free licence to store, reproduce and display this content to provide the service, and to adapt it technically for display, such as by creating a thumbnail. This permission covers worldwide access to the site and lasts as long as the content is available on the service.
After removal, only copies needed for backups, legal obligations or dispute handling may remain for as long as justified by those needs. This permission does not allow reuse of your private messages in advertising. Separate promotional use of your content requires your agreement.
The operator's and its partners' trademarks, graphics, software and other content remain protected. Their reuse must comply with the permissions obtained and statutory exceptions.
Your data and your choices
CODIWEB processes data to manage accounts, publish listings, deliver messages, respond to requests and protect the service. Connection information may include the IP address, associated network, device type, operating system and browser. Support chat is provided through Crisp.
Accepting the terms is not general consent to all processing, marketing or cookies. The newsletter is a separate choice; message notifications are configured in messaging.
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data and, subject to legal conditions, portability, restriction of processing or object to processing. You can withdraw consent without affecting prior processing based on it.
To exercise your rights, contact the team. You may also contact the CNIL. The personal data protection policy provides further information on privacy.
Each person's role
Each member is responsible for their listings, messages and commitments. Members must check relevant information before an exchange, comply with the rules applicable to the goods or services, and must not present a simple introduction as a guarantee by the operator.
CODIWEB operates the service and fulfils the legal obligations applicable to its activity. Its liability is assessed under applicable law. No provision of these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or requires you to waive a mandatory right.
Maintenance, incidents or external circumstances may interrupt access to the site. The operator makes reasonable efforts to restore the service and inform members when a planned interruption warrants it. Continuous availability or complete absence of errors cannot be guaranteed.
You can request closure of your account
You can submit your request to the team through the contact chat. A proportionate identity check may be necessary to prevent a third party from requesting closure.
Closure ends access to the account. It does not cancel commitments already made between members or necessarily result in immediate deletion of all data: some may be needed for a legal obligation, a report or a dispute. Requests for erasure are assessed under data protection rules.
The terms may change following changes to the service or applicable law. Members are informed of any significant change, its scope and effective date. Fresh acceptance is obtained where required. Changes do not deprive members of acquired rights.
Seek dialogue while keeping your remedies
For a problem with the service, send CODIWEB a complaint through the contact page describing the facts and the solution you seek. For a disagreement about an exchange, first contact the other member and keep relevant evidence.
Seeking an amicable solution does not deprive you of the right to bring proceedings before the competent court or use dispute resolution procedures provided by law, including consumer mediation where your dispute is eligible.
These terms were drafted in French and are governed by French law, subject to the mandatory protections you enjoy. Court jurisdiction is determined by law; no exclusive jurisdiction at the operator's registered office is imposed on you. If a provision is held unenforceable, the others remain applicable to the extent permitted by law.
